Forum Title: Selling your business
Alright so I have this dream of selling my business, moving up north to cottage country, and using the profit from my business to fund starting another painting business in my new cottage country town. This guy who I know that has both bought and sold businesses in the past says 'you'll only be able to sell your business for 5 months of gross income'. So if you Gross 100k a year, you'll only be able to sell for about 40k. Does that sound right to you guys? If you grossed 100k a year in sales what would be your number to sell? I'm just interested in your opinion, let's not get into a net vs gross argument here. I know this discussion is more complicated than this question lol.

What exactly are you selling for the value equal to 41% of your business?
