Forum Title: How old were you and......
So, how old were you when you started painting? And what has changed since then in the industry? I'll start off...... yes im a youngin (32) I started when i was 15 with a family member's company. I started out prepping for a couple of years then finally moved up to a painter I've been doing it ever since, just recently went out on my own trying to make a good name for myself and so far it's going fairly well. Ive been advertising on Facebook, and a few word of mouth jobs. I do mostly interior, but do exterior when i can find the project's. One thing i've even noticed in the past 16 years is that finding good quality jobs to do in my area has became kinda scare due to other painters undercutting everyone just to make a dollar.

14. Nearly everything has changed. Oil-based paint was the go-to back in the day, especially for exteriors. Now, I rarely use any oil unless it's a Rustoleum type product.
